Playing With Fire: Add in Some Brights!

Hot Orange Soft Gray

As the new year rolls around, don’t be afraid to mix in some vivid bright colors to your attire. I’m talking about bright tangerine orange with soft gray, citrusy yellow with navy, and hot fuchsia with black. It’s eye catching, chic, and fun.

Tangerine Orange with Soft Gray

For this look, we paired a hot orange, flowy dress with a shredded flower pin from Ann Taylor Loft ($14.50) with some Tory Burch Patent Eddie Ballet Flats ($178) and a cute Maggie Bags tote from Target ($50.99). Or, add some soft gray in the mix with Kate Spade’s Casie pumps featuring an adorable sequin bow ($298). Tie it all together with a Square Silk Chakra Healing Scarf from (£5.99) and you’ve got yourself a hot look.

Lemon Yellow with Navy

This citrusy and refreshing color palette is created with a mix of luxurious navy pieces on hot yellow apparels. We paired a navy Marc Jacobs Quilted XL Single Leather Bag from ($795) with a Quintessential Navy Silk Scarf from (£29.99). Add a hot yellow dress, like the cute silky one from Ralph Lauren or the one shoulder piece from Top it off with an pair of navy peep-toe pumps from, which features a great assortment of shoes to choose from.

Hot Fuchsia and Black

A bright, young-at-heart color scheme featuring hot pinks and fuchsias can be made sophisticated with some black accessories. Start out with a hot fuchsia dress, like Betsey Johnson’s Babydoll Battenburg Dress, and find a pair of heels of similar hue, like Kate Spade’s New York Clarice Hot Pink Satin pumps from ($298).  The black Satchel from Coach (available on Amazon, $309) is a versatile choice that compliments the look. Finally, top it off with a pair of sexy, lacy leggings from Betsey Johnson.
